WRONG...They are there to LOP OFF HEADS..THAT'S how they make you more "efficient". Their employees are rude and abusive. If you object to the way you're treated they put you on what's called a "fever" chart. This is telling management that you are resisting thew change when in actuality you are objecting to the way you and your people and being treated. They accuse all your employees of lollygagging. They also use foul language. Don't waste your money or time on these losers. I lost my job because of these assholes. That's more the fault of our management who bought every word these losers told them. They carry around clipboards like people are machines and can put out reports like an automaton. I just left another management consulting firm based in Chicago named Global Resources (GR), except each of their divisions (Sales, Analysis, Consulting, Tax, and Client Services) were each organized as a separate company. Ostensibly, this was done to build a firewall around each division for liability purposes.

There were lots of similarities to DBA, especially the lying. The 100% travel was the same, but the per diem was $100 per day. The compensation was 100% commission, with the prospect of $100K, the first year and unlimited thereafter. The top gun purportedly made $690K last year and was on pace to make $800K this year. They have a 75% attrition rate the first six months, so they churn through a lot of good people in a short period of time.

Their business model required you to create urgency, back the client in a corner and get him/her to sign off on a large consulting engagement. Holding a client accountable is one thing, but manufacturing urgency portends one thing: GREED. I've done free-lance consulting for 30 years and much prefer the lean times to the fast-paced-no-integrity scam that was GR. I suppose you could make big bucks at GR if you were willing to scrap your ethics and sell your soul to the company. No thanks!
Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-31668783.post-50157165993532081242014-07-23T13:06:08.030-07:002014-07-23T13:06:08.030-07:00Derp. They know beforehand what lowball pitch will be made, but if associates are staying up 20 hours to do time studies then the potential client thinks some real work is being done and is amazed when the rabbit comes out of the hat on Friday. I have read through most of the comments here. And they were true and are currently true now. The truth hurts. This is why DBA has a problem now hiring people becuase no one wants to be treated like a second class citizen in constant fear of loosing their jobs. DBA is run by the same people now as they have as they have been since starting in the consulting business. They have not changed the culture. Basically the chiefs and senior chiefs take the profits that come from roughly 8500 per week per man on site. They do this instead of spreading the wealth and possible takeing care of the poeple who are responsible for actually getting the savings. Instead most Cheifs fly into a project and sit in the birdroom playing on the internet most the day and tracking who comes into the bird room rather than being out on the floor with the client changing the culture of the site whereever that may be. Like I said the best predictor of the future is the past. That hasn't changed at DBA as I keep in tough with many employees that currently work with DBA. The problemn that DBA has now is that no one want to work their anymore becuase they have been educated on the rediculous managnement practices at this company. Moreover they realize there are other copanies such as Produfoot that have a much better culture. I have to laugh the turnover rate is over 100% currently. Why is that? Think about it? I have to say if someone would take a position at DBA they would have to be really desperate. As DBA is really the bottom of the barrel as far as consulting goes and I am not bitter at all just honest and trying to help others who may be looking for a position in this tough economy. The truth hurts but it is the truth.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
